Progressive events presenting developmental trends in the city:
- A New awareness of efficient use of city space
- The unification of creative initiatives and resources within the framework of the festival’s interdisciplinary project
- The opening of new, visitor-oriented city-tours
- The unveiling of a new form of event - organizing openings throughout the city and taking into account the wealth of “genius space” in Yaroslavl. The festival fills Yaroslavl’s veritable “September event vacuum” and will thus assume an essential role in the cultural program celebrating the 1000-year anniversary of the city.
Goal
To deepen the scope of Yaroslavl’s popular image – beyond its reputation as an ancient provincial city – and show the modern face of the open, internationally-oriented urban center.
Description
«Architectural of Movement» - Progressive movement through the city of Yaroslavl. An exploration of the mutual connections between the city environment and landscape, architecture, the human body, and its movements. The posibility to change the space of the city and its popular perception through modern art in various forms.
The festival involves the participation of architects, artists, dancers, musicians, photographers, and filmmakers from across Russia and Europe.
The project consists of several scheduled courses through the city, with progressive events including film showings, concerts, performances, seminars, meetings in cafes, and many others, showing the city of Yaroslavl from a different angle and spurring an artistic movement which the city has not yet seen.
